Overview of role: This role will support the product management team at Hartford Funds by providing financial modeling and expense analysis to help drive product strategy and inform decision-making. Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with members of the product management team to prepare financial modeling for new product launches, fund enhancements and repurposes, and expense structure changes.
  • Support ongoing expense management efforts and long-term financial planning through economic analysis of potential strategic initiatives and growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to the strength of the firm's product lineup by running profitability analysis for potential product offerings driven by industry demand for particular strategies, asset classes, and investment vehicles.
  • Lead annual review of fund expense limitation arrangements, facilitate discussions between finance and product management teams, and present estimated financial impact of proposed arrangements to senior leadership.
  • Maintain ongoing record of all fund expense changes and communicate updates to all impacted teams (fund treasury, accounting, forecasting and planning, etc.).
  • Review legal agreements and regulatory filings to ensure all expense changes and fund updates are accurately reflected.
  • Undertake special projects and additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 0-5 years of industry experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency writing formulas, creating pivot tables, and using flexible models.
  • Highly detail-oriented and superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate deliverables across departments and facilitate information sharing across teams.
  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to learn.
Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
