FLANDERS is looking for a Product Support Engineer to join our highly innovative engineering teams designing Autonomous Solutions for mobile equipment in the surface mining industry in Carmel, Indiana! As a Product Support Engineer you will provide advanced technical and application engineering support and expertise to the Global Regions where FLANDERS deploys systems and solutions. You will participate in the validation and release of new products to the market and connect the customer issues and enhancements opportunities with Engineering. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Technical and Application Support to the FLANDERS Global Regions
- Validate customer reported defects and report to Engineering
- Assist with the Triage and Prioritization of the defects resolutions
- Provide Product feedback and enhancements recommendations to engineering via the Agile Development Process
- Lead and drive Field Validation activities related to testing / trialing a new product release
- Create and execute Validation Test cases in the Field and document defects found
- Assign severity level of defects found based on pre-defined criteria
- Write and release related product documentation, e.g. Release Notes, User Manuals, Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Troubleshooting Documents and other
- Prepare Training Materials and Provide training to the regions and new hires as the team grows and expands globally
- Maintain a record of software compatibility matrix being validated
- Troubleshoot software, configuration, and electrical issues found during field validation
- Interface with a global team of engineers and product support resources to successfully complete tasks
- Apply all safety procedures and use proper safety equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment at all times.
Key Competencies:
- Engineering or Equivalent Technical Degree
- 3+ years of similar job experience in the mining industry
Assets:
- Previous experience with industrial and mobile equipment automation
- Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix experience
- Industrial Communication Networks (EtherNet/IP, CanBus, SAEJ1939, DeviceNet)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Vault, and Inventor
- Familiarity with the Agile execution model and methodologies
- Familiarity with Jira
- Familiar with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to explain complex defects and designs in simple high-level terms
