TEAM UP WITH US! The Product Support Field Inspector is a field-based position responsible for representing the product support sales team by performing inspections, communicating results, assisting with quotes, and managing customer relationships within their assigned territory. This position is responsible for maximizing product support efforts for hydraulic, engine, drivetrain, undercarriage and Ground Engaging Tool (GET) product lines in order to maximize sales and gross profit objectives. Work is performed under limited supervision. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Represent Warren CAT as a technical expert.
- Initiate and conduct field inspections and/or evaluations on customer owned heavy equipment products; assess machine condition and recommend repairs and/or maintenance.
- Complete inspection reports and other documentation, providing descriptive feedback on the condition of various machines in a timely and accurate manner.
- Utilize CAT Inspect, CTS Pro and Bucket Pro software to maximize product life and value for the customer.
- Effectively communicate inspection findings to the Machine Product Support Sales Team, customer, and/or Service Department.
- Work as a member of the team to prioritize, schedule and complete machine inspections in alignment with customer needs while achieving departmental goals.
- Engage with customers to promote the adoption of Warren CAT's complete product offerings.
- Collaborate with the Product Support Sales Team to develop and sell key customers hydraulic, engine, drivetrain, undercarriage and GET products at acceptable sales and gross profit levels.
- Assist in repair/maintenance research based on inspection results.
- Assist the Product Support Sales management team with training new employees on the safe operation and inspection process of CAT and allied equipment.
- Assist Product Support Sales Reps in creation of repair estimates based on inspection findings.
- Fill in for other territory inspectors when necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance, mechanical and/or operational related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience maintaining organization in a changing environment.
- Sufficient technical skills to be able to work through product issues.
- Ability to recognize machine problems and failures on the products that they inspect, including power train knowledge, structural knowledge, the ability to measure undercarriage, etc.
- Ability to operate, to a limited degree, all of the products sold by dealership.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Effective decision-making, analytical, organizational, leadership, written/verbal communication and customer relation skills.
- Must be able to pass Work Steps.
- Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
