Location City/State: Shullsburg, Wisconsin (WI)Company: Shullsburg Creamery Department: Production 2nd Shift Job Status: HourlyReports To: Plant Supervisor Work Schedule: 9am-5pm, M-F, Weekends as neededPay: $19.06 per hour, plus $1 2nd shift differential POSITION:The Cheese Production Team are the leaders in the first step of the creamery operation of producing cheese. This person may work in a team environment or independently, depending on the many, varied tasks, and job duties that are needed to be performed in achieving the end result of a quality product in a timely and effective manner. As with all positions to include all food safety and quality requirements. SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Able to take direction and willing to work according to the instructions that are given by line leads or supervisors. Must be flexible enough to embrace change and ask questions when needed.
• Must have strong upper body strength for some aspects of cheese production.
• Actively develop problem solving skills and initiative to consider and implement adjustments based on experience and sound judgement.
• Must be a team player and able to work well with others but also able to work independently and productively with a timely outcome. Be persistent and hardworking while maintaining a positive attitude and environment.
• Embrace and support the plant's safety program and policies to insure a safe, hazard-free working environment for all employees.
• Adhere to company policies and legal guidelines and procedure in the areas of the overall packaging and production department, human resources, food safety and quality assurance.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be in good physical condition: able to bend, lift, twist, move, stand and/or walk through entire shift. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks that often involve dexterity, using the wrist, arms, or hands
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more at a time.
• Must be punctual and reliable.

Requirements:

• Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral directions in the English language.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Must demonstrate basic math skills to calculate production yields and understand weights and measures.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.
• Preferred: Previous related experience in food and/or manufacturing industry.

Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. The employee must be able to push, pull, and move up to 100 pounds. The employee must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds. All jobs require visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech. At times there can be loud noise which may cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
