This position is primarily engaged in teaching, research and service.The candidate must hold, the doctorate (or recognized terminal degree) from an acceptable accredited institution in the field of specialization or closely related discipline at the time of hire. Must have developing program of scholarly research, experience in teaching, or professional work of high caliber, and willingness to participates in University related service duties at least at the departmental level.General Description/Primary Purpose:The School of Engineering is seeking a 9-month, tenure-earning, Assistant or Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering. This position will report to Dr. Alan Harris, Director of the School of Engineering. Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses with a 2/2 teaching load, leading an externally funded research program in their field and service to the School, College of Computing, Engineering and Construction and the University of North Florida.For hiring at the rank of Associate, must meet all requirements above; and must have earned rank of Associate Professor, and demonstrated success in securing external grant funding as appropriate to the discipline.Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 4, 2025. The candidate must also demonstrate a record of scholarly achievement and evidence of teaching excellence.Preferred Qualifications / Skills: Candidates from all areas of electrical engineering are encouraged to apply, with preference given to those demonstrating the potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program and collaborate effectively with existing faculty across disciplines at UNF. The successful candidate will be expected to show a strong commitment to teaching excellence and a willingness to engage in continuous learning.
