Summary:The Video Production Clerk position provides administrative support for in-scope work in WBS 420 of the NASA RFESS contract. This position requires a highly motivated, self-starter who is able to manage daily video department administrative tasks as well as coordinate and support complex meeting set-ups with both Mac and PC operating systems. Candidates must be technically adaptable, organized, poised and professional under pressure, take ownership and pride in their work, and pay attention to detail.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Performs the following tasks in support of the Video Department:
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload while supporting multiple organizations and frequent customers.
- Maintains a variety of documents including letters, forms, reports and memos
- Establishes and maintains files, including records of purchases for the Video Group
- Opens, closes and tracks work orders. Runs adhoc reports for management.
- Coordinates requirements for ISF auditorium events and ensures necessary equipment is in place prior to events
- Maintains the Armstrong TV Videotape/Media Library.
- Creates and manipulates complex PowerPoint presentations. Builds video graphics for live broadcasts and program playbacks
- Submits Purchase Requests with associated documentation and tracks progress
- Archives historic NASA footage
- Works with production staff, identifying and entering metadata to digital media files
- Coordinates with technical staff for live event support, performing laptop operation and audio support as required. Serves as media operator during programs
- Assist video production teams with equipment setup. Operate teleprompter for talent
- Set up MS Teams and/or Webex for hybrid meetings
- Serves as the training coordinator for all Arcata RF&ESS employees. This includes Arcata training coordinator.
- Demonstrated ability to setup and interface PC and Mac computers with conference room equipment (ie. sound, Crestron controllers, projectors, telecom, Lifesize, WebEx and Lync)
- Compile weekly notes to monthly reports
- Serve as the travel coordinator. Review and route employee travel authorizations and expense reports. At times, make car, hotel and airfare reservations for domestic and international travel
- Ingests and transcodes film archive files into non-proprietary codecs. Adds metadata to the library database.

- Associates degree or high school diploma or high school equivalency with at least three years of progressively responsible experience in a Production Control Clerk or a related position.
Core Competencies:In-depth knowledge of: MAC-based business applications software such as Microsoft Office; specifically, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; proper English grammar usage, spelling and punctuation; modern business office procedures, including filing systems, business correspondence and telephone techniques. Ability to type at least 50 net words per minute. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully in both oral and written form. Must be detail oriented and organized. Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including telephones, computers, copy machines, fax machines, scanners, and shredders. Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Interface with Executive level customers in high-pressure situations. Ability to perform work in an ISO compliant/certified environment. Understanding of PC and Macintosh operational differences and ability to use computers of either type. Basic understanding of databases and ability to run queries preferred. Familiar with basic functions of Adobe Suite preferred. Ability to help set up for special events in the hangar and off-site locations. Overtime and adjusted work schedules are infrequent but may be necessary.
