PRODUCTION COORDINATOR - GRADE 11VSC UP - PAT BARGAINING UNIT NON-EXEMPTBASIC FUNCTIONTo direct and manage technical services in the theatre as well as other college activities and events.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Train student crews in technical theatre production and conference systems support. Supervise and oversee scheduling of student worker crew. Assist in the budget oversight and maintenance of equipment, materials, and supplies related to the theater stage including lighting, rigging, carpentry, sound and specialized equipment. Design, install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and modify audio, video and computer network systems and equipment in the MBI audio studio, ATT theater, and ASAC100 performance/meeting space. Repair and maintain all systems and equipment with the ability to troubleshoot to the component level and repair when possible or see that equipment is repaired by outside vendors as needed. Assume primary responsibility for creation, maintenance and currency of college events streaming video via webpage and streaming video system. Perform and document repairs and regular preventive maintenance procedures.SUPERVISION RECEIVEDDirection received from the Director of Theaters and Programming via weekly meetings and additional oversight/support.SUPERVISION EXERCISEDSupervision of 10-20 student workersMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in a related field, plus training and experience with complex electronics or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Experience in the repair and maintenance of video broadcasting equipment. Knowledge, experience and advanced skills with stage production, sound and lighting for a variety of theatrical and performance settings. Knowledge of basic fundamental electricity, modern stage construction including rigging, lighting, sound, and stage carpentry, and painting. Knowledge of dance lighting and concert audio engineering. Good communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with a broad variety of individuals and groups both on and off campus. Flexibility with work schedule is essential. Some nights and weekends as programming dictates, ability to work nontraditional hours.This general outline illustrates the type of work which characterizes the job classification.
