OVERVIEWThe Production Coordinator will have many of the same responsibilities as the Production Planner, but on a reduced scale. They will be accountable for coordinating the production and transportation of a reduced amount products and will support the Production Planner as needed. The Production Coordinator will be the main link between Planning, Logistics, and Refinery Operations for the lines/products that fall within their responsibility. They will be expected to meet the planned needs of the organization for the products they handle and will also function as the primary site resource for the Transportation Management System (TMS) that exists at the facility if needed. This individual must be a strong communicator, team player and must demonstrate a customer-focused approach to problem solving.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Coordinate activities only related to a designated subset of overall Refinery production; this could include, but is not limited to, bulk EFG, liquid sucrose, co-crystalized product, NF product, rice, natural sugars, molasses, invert products. Product line will vary from site to site.
- Responsible for reviewing monthly plans sent from the Planning team and using this information to create the refinery and machine schedules on a daily and weekly basis that fall within refinery capabilities and ensure order fulfilment
- Daily review of sales demand in SAP (Open Order report) to ensure customer requirements can be met.
- Must enter and maintain work orders in SAP for production as needed.
- Participate in discussion with Planning/Logistics/Distribution regarding the need to redirect orders to other facilities when product is not available.
- Coordinate indirect vs direct shipments for designated subset of products to minimize Replenishment freight
- Create and maintain Stock Transfer Orders (STOs) for designated product portfolio
- Meet with Operations team on a daily basis to discuss any operation issues that will require adjustments to the plans.
- Communicate with Customer Service, Sales and customers with updates and product availability when supply issues exist.
- Responsible for maintaining the TMS system and scheduling carriers for pickup as needed
- Communicate with carriers regarding all issues changes to the appointment schedule, this includes communicating with the guard house
- Main point of contact for Distribution-related issues for Customer Service and carriers
- Direct customer interaction to confirm orders in advance
WORK EXPERIENCES - Background in Supply Chain - Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Distribution, Logistics, Planning, Customer Service
- SAP experience preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - BS degree in Business or Operations preferred
- APICS certification a plus
