PRODUCTION DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION To work diligently to accomplish the mission and vision of Crossline Church. Provide leadership and support to all areas of the Production Ministry, with a specific focus on overseeing audio, video, lighting, and systems engineering, ensuring high-quality production for church events and services. This role also involves team management, strategic planning, and technical system advancements. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastors and other ministry leaders to ensure production aligns with the vision and goals of the church.
- Develop and implement a long-term strategy for the production team, including staffing, technical infrastructure, and process improvements.
- Manage the production budget, including equipment purchases, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Serve as a technical advisor for church leadership when planning major events, stage designs, and production setups.
- Stay up-to-date on current production technologies and trends to continually enhance the church's production capabilities.
Director:
- Lead the Production Ministry team to support all programs and events, providing direction, training, and spiritual mentorship.
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteers for the production team, ensuring adequate staffing for all services and events.
- Cross-train staff and volunteers in all areas of production, including audio, video, lighting, and broadcast production systems.
- Develop a production training program to elevate team member skills and knowledge across all production roles.
- Oversee all aspects of the weekend worship service production, including audio, video, lighting, and live streaming.
- Schedule and lead weekly team meetings to review upcoming events, discuss improvements, and encourage team growth.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all production-related needs for other ministries and ensure alignment with their event goals.
Technical Operations:
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all audio, video, and lighting systems across the campus.
- Implement best practices for live sound mixing, video production, and lighting design, ensuring a seamless worship experience.
- Lead the team in producing high-quality live streaming services, overseeing the use of multi-camera systems, live video switching, and online broadcast platforms.
- Evaluate and make recommendations for new technology, equipment upgrades, and process enhancements to improve production quality.
- Manage video production efforts, including recording, editing, and producing promotional videos, sermon archives, and other digital media.
Event Production & Execution:
- Lead production efforts for all major events, including Christmas, Easter, special outreach events, and ministry-specific programs.
- Collaborate with the worship and creative teams to plan stage designs, lighting ambiance, and multimedia elements that enhance the worship experience.
- Ensure smooth execution of live productions, including pre-service technical checks, live mixing, and post-production reviews.
- Provide technical support and oversight for church-wide events, conferences, and retreats held on or off campus.
- Work closely with the facilities team to ensure all production spaces are well-maintained, organized, and equipped for events.
Safety & Maintenance:
- Ensure all production systems and environments adhere to safety standards, including electrical, rigging, and structural integrity of equipment setups.
- Create and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for production equipment, ensuring that all systems remain in peak operational condition.
- Facilitate technical training for staff and volunteers on equipment safety and proper operation procedures.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Strong understanding of church production systems, including audio, video, lighting, and live-streaming technologies.
- Leadership experience in managing both staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Experience working with worship leaders, pastors, and other ministry leaders to plan and execute services and events.
- Proficient in audio and video production software and systems: Microsoft Office, Planning Center Online, Adobe Premiere
- AWS MediaLive, Cisco SNA, Dante / MADI, DMX/Art-Net/sACN
- Lua Scripting, NovaLCT Mars, ProPresenter, Protools Ultimate
- QSC Q-SYS, Resolume, SMPTE 2110 Suite / NDIPro Tools, Ableton Live
- Multi-camera video production and live-streaming platforms
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Goal-oriented with excellent project management and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and mastery of the written English language.
- Expertise in sound engineering, live streaming production, and video editing.
- Ability to create and execute lighting designs that complement worship and special events.
- Strong understanding of signal flow, AV infrastructure, and system integration.
- Skilled at managing complex production environments with professionalism and efficiency.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
