Job Description:
Production EngineerWe are seeking a highly motivated and creative Videographer or Photographer with experience in production (film, advertising, television or live theater, concerts, corporate meetings/ conventions or other entertainment) to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Communications Director within the Office of the Mayor. The candidate will collaborate closely with the media production team to plan, produce and release engaging stories about the City of Gary, the Office of the Mayor, and its citizens. Location City of Gary, Indiana. City Hall. Salary $ 41,215.97 Job responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following: Plans, captures, edits and manages compelling photo and / or video content for social media, advertising and public access TV. Collaborates with communications and media team members to produce video, photos, graphics and other visual assets as needed . Works with stakeholders to plan, prototype and generate creative ideas for visual communication. Helps stakeholders achieve their vision, goals, and brand voice. Schedules recording sessions with the client and designated key stakeholders. Sets up cameras, microphones, lighting, and other equipment at various locations. Ensures capture of high-quality audio, photo and / or video footage using professional grade equipment. Fully manages editing / post-production process, including color correction, audio clean up, visual effects, captions, and graphics. Uses Adobe Creative Cloud applications and other modern digital tools. Checks for errors, glitches, and inconsistencies, ensures all files meet industry standards and channel specifications, understands and uses compression to achieve appropriate quality and file size. Checks for consistency in visual branding across all content and alignment with City of Gary brand standards. Assists team with properly labeling, organizing and archiving all content and footage in all formats. Desired Skills: Excellent communication skills: Strong verbal and written English communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders, media, and vendors. Technical skills: Proven experience using modern digital tools to create, edit, test and publish digital content. Enthusiasm and willingness to be a lifelong learner. Production skills: Proven experience in production (film, advertising, television or live theater, concerts, festivals, corporate meetings/ conventions or other entertainment) Organizational skills: Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once. Cultural Competency: Experience and flexibility working with diverse cultural groups within the United States. Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree - High school diploma or GED - 2 years work experience
