About the Team The Production Engineering (PE/SRE/DevOps) team is the power behind engineering goodness for all above. By writing, designing and implementing software and infrastructure to drive velocity, operability, reliability and performance, the PE team ensures continuous quality and compliance on production systems. We also build and maintain tools and platforms for engineer productivity and are at the forefront of tech initiatives of infrastructure modernization with cloud platforms and experimenting with new technologies. Our goal is to: Efficiently bring products to market.Proactively prevent defects from reaching customers.Swiftly address and resolve any production issues.If you believe in the above, come join us.A Lot About You We are looking for DevOps, Production Engineers (SRE's) who are problem solvers at heart, with solid ability to dig into code and own the reliability domain. As a member of the PE team, you will work with your developer partners and implement operability improvements, security, infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, monitoring and other system requirements. You will also work in development of tools, automation platforms and intelligent monitoring. You are a self starter with a passion for solving difficult technical problems, from the network to the application stackLike to relentlessly automate everything and anything at scale (tens of thousands of servers)Want to make web applications and backend systems faster, more reliable, more efficientCan handle fast-paced projects, enjoy having a broad and deep technical knowledge and are driven to iterate with new technologiesFeel comfortable with troubleshooting issues, incident management and doing on-callInterested in cutting edge technologies, open source and taking products from design to productionResponsibilitiesManage production environment at vast scale and their associated infrastructure and toolsSupport the operability roadmap to improve the availability, performance, scalability and efficiency of the services by implementing monitoring, automation, redundancy, capacity and business continuity planningWork on challenging system and network problems to improve system performance and reliabilityImplement and maintain monitoring to provide complete transparency to application and system state, history, trends and insightsParticipation in on-call rotation - drive incident resolution, live troubleshooting and impact mitigationBasic QualificationsBS in Computer Science or equivalent degreeAt least 5 years experience in GCP, AWS and Software Development rolesAt least 5 Years of experience in web technologies like Apache, Jetty, Tomcat, nodeAt least 3 years of experience in deploying and maintaining applications in Kubernetes.Intermediate to advanced level of coding expertise in one or more language including Java, Python, or GoSolid experience with writing, understanding and enhancing algorithms, data structures, scripting, and software design practiceDeep understanding of UNIX/Linux system internals and tools for troubleshooting applicationGood knowledge of TCP/IP and networkingStrong oral and written communication skillsPreferred QualificationsMS in Computer ScienceExperience in Managing EKS, ECS, helm chart, fluxcdExperience in working with any IAC, preferably TerraformExperience in designing, managing large scale infrastructure in AWS EKS, AWS Open search, multi zone, multi region deployments.Experience with building CI/CD pipelines using github actionsExperience in MLOpsDeep understanding of UNIX/Linux system internals and tools for troubleshooting applicationsExperience with system reliability/observablity tools like Open telemetry, Chronosphire, Openseach observablity, Prometheus, SplunkExperience with large data processing and storage solutions like Flink, Storm, Spark, Hadoop Map/Reduce, Pig, Oozie, REDISYahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
