Globally Headquartered in Japan with a network of 67 group companies in 17 countries and regions, the Group brings its extensive range of products to customers all over the world.Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for a Production Engineer in the Toyota Production Systems department, out of our Perryville, Missouri office. The Production Engineer functions with a high degree of autonomy, and is responsible for providing professional level industrial engineering for Toyoda Gosei (TG) North America Corporation (TGNA) and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (NAMCs).Primary Duties and Responsibilities Horizontally deploy (Yokoten) TPS philosophy and tools to enable NAMCs to meet customer requirements Collaborate with NAMCs to expand existing or launch new models & facilities, and integrate new product lines Utilize TPS to improve material flow to achieve target TAKT time & cycle time, and reduce lead time Collaborate with NAMCs in observing manufacturing processes to isolate problems and develop countermeasures Utilize TG standard problem solving process (PDCA) to prioritize problems, perform root-cause analysis, determine potential solutions, and propose action to eliminate problems and improve KPIs Determine parts/tools needed to implement existing processes and layouts into new/expanded facilities Serve as a SME to support NAMC TPS development throughout the America's Create and maintain reporting and documentation on processes, procedures, and changes Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen) This role requires the completion of other duties as assignedQualifications and Competencies Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field is required Experience working with Toyota Production System (TPS) is preferred Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in automotive manufacturing or related industry is required Demonstrable ability to understand and apply mechanical processes is required Demonstrable ability to compile and present factual/concise reports is required Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2007 or newer is required Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required Effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills with all staff and management are required Effective attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills is requiredBenefits (subject to eligibility): Insurance (Health, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Program) Company Paid STD, LTD, Life, and AD&D Generous Employer Contribution to HSA Short and Long Term Disability 401K Company Match Paid Time Off/Holidays Free Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) Reimbursement Programs (Cellphone, Tuition, Vehicle, etc.) Multiple Free Wellness Programs Offered
