The TIESNA is focused on the sale of world-class quality electronics products for automobile manufactured by TICO for sale to North American based OEM automobile manufacturers.

TIESNA GA is based in Pendergrass, Georgia. This position is on-site at TACG 1700 Valentine industrial Parkway, Pendergrass GA 30567.

Department Purpose:

To effectively lead department associates to execute daily production operations and apply TPS, 5S, JIT, and other Lean Manufacturing methods under a continuous improvement (Kaizen) philosophy. The Production Engineering Department focuses on the study of design, manufacturing processes and management of products; as well as optimizing production to maintain safety, quality, and make the process efficient and economical.

Position Purpose:

Effectively plan and coordinate activities associated with equipment maintenance, tooling, and production engineering with other departments and functions. Supervise and develop individuals and foster a teamwork environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and feasibility, prior to and after engineering releases to manufacturing.
  • Lead Kaizen (improvement) and cost reduction activities and projects.
  • Coordinate all engineering releases and changes relative to routings, setting standards, data entry, and follow-up with quality control in mind to meet customer requirements.
  • Utilize CAD software applications in the design and development of equipment and parts drawings, including 3-D imaging and motion for process simulation.
  • Determine priorities with the Production Manager maintaining detailed documentation as required.
  • Investigate, justify, purchase, and track company assets.
  • Conduct layouts and supervision of all necessary construction of plant expansion or alterations, including the coordination of external contractors.
  • Mentor junior level staff in leadership ideals and TICO practices by promoting and maintaining activities to develop and improve management and leadership skills.
  • Maintain high employee morale, minimizing staff turnover, and promoting a positive teamwork environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-cultural, team oriented environment.
  • Computer skills: Proficient in MS Office programs, including the ability to conduct data analysis using Excel. Experience using CAD (computer aided design system).
  • Works well with others in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 2 years of Toyota Industries Group experience at the senior level or 10+years with relevant experience
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD/Inventor/CATIA etc.)
  • Knowledge and capability of electrical and mechanical design
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, PLC (Keyence, etc.) Logic and Robot operation (IAI/Denso, etc.)
  • Possess two-way communication skills among all levels of associates
  • Possesses problem-solving skills
  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in SMT and PCB processes, is desirable
  • Experience working and building relationships cross-culturally in a global enterprise, especially within Japanese culture.

Supervisor:

  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Experience preferred
  • Expressed knowledge, skill, and abilities for independent contribution and project management
  • +10 years or more demonstrated experience in related field and role for successful independent contribution and full cycle project management
  • Increasingly independent judgment applied to determining techniques, procedures and criteria to solve problems
  • Evaluates problem, determines necessary resources, determines best methods and successfully solves problems
  • Accomplishes significant phases of larger projects and may be involved in the initial planning of major projects; contributes effectively to cross-functional teams
  • Performs broad range of work that requires increased creativity/ingenuity
  • Takes on assignments that require greater investigation and research
  • Displays communication skills that successfully informs management how a change of existing structure, practice or programs can benefit the organization
  • Works on G&Os as they relate to Department Go and cover area where experience is most prevalent
  • Applies the PDCA cycle to daily work processes & aspects of TICO Drive & Dedication
  • Is involved in department schedules and budget completion
  • Independently applies Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, and Standardization practices
  • Promote and foster activities and communication to create and maintain good associate morale
  • Set example and confirm associates adhere to safety rules, regulations and procedures
  • Promote kaizen activities, SEQDCM, lead team members on department G&O's

Assistant Manager Level:

  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Experience preferred
  • Expressed knowledge, skill, and abilities for independent contribution and project management
  • +10 years or more demonstrated experience in related field and role for successful independent contribution and full cycle project management
  • Requires guidance/input on only the most complex business situations or projects
  • Makes critical contributions to managing and solving complex business situations
  • Independently evaluates and selects techniques, procedures and criteria to apply these effectively in diverse situations
  • Projects outcomes/costs and benefits of applying problem solving techniques; achieves planned outcomes and targeted return on investment
  • Demonstrates high-level negotiation/presentation skills that may deal with significant decisions or conflict situations
  • Participates in the development of Department G&O as it relates to department; plays major role in development of overall G&Os
  • Applies the PDCA cycle to daily work processes & aspects of TICO Drive & Dedication
  • Is involved in department schedules and budget completion

Physical Requirements:
