Production Floating Lead

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary function of this role is to lead a team of five to six individuals; to produce, ship, and receive products and materials in a timely manner. In addition, you will actively participate in production of finished goods in accordance with the production schedule and location manager's guidance. This includes ensuring the areas of responsibility are clean, neat and organized, while scale and warehouse work is being completed in the correct fashion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Responsibilities:

* Organize and assign tasks to team members

* Ensure trucks are processed through shipping and/or receiving in a timely manner

* Ensure all paperwork is filled out timely and accurately

* This is a working lead position, and the individual will need to pick up duties to keep things moving smoothly

* Ensure general housekeeping is completed for production areas and warehouse

* Maintain the appearance of the facilities - both inside and out

Scale House Operations:

* All inbound loads (dumping or parking on Dolly Pad - DP)

* Probe, test and scale all loads parked on Dolly Pad - DP

* Retain product samples on all loads - Properly mark retain sample bag

* Sweep scale by unloading pit after each load

* Enter test results in computer

* All outbound loads (live or preloaded)

* Scale, ensure correct product, quantity and destination

* Obtain sample, ensure COA and/or barcode in paperwork, if needed per customer requirements

* Scale out and get all paperwork completed and posted in a timely manner

Warehouse Operations:

* Assist in daily scheduled production in all areas, ensuring the processing work is performed in an efficient & productive manner:

* Bag and tote product if help is required

* Protect product after bagging (proper stacking, shrink wrap, covers, warehouse label)

* Monitor shift workers and equipment and report any problems to Supervisor

* Walk around both dirty and clean bins to see if there are any problems developing

* Check cleaner, destoner, and all other parts of production throughout the shift

* Other Duties: mow lawn, shovel snow, move trailers, change screens and set up grinders, extra clean up and any other tasks that need to be completed around the facility as assigned

General

* Trouble shoot and communicate breakdowns to our Maintenance team and Supervisor

* Repair minor issues, ex. replace drive belts & patch holes where and when able

* Utilize all members of the team to accomplish tasks, holding yourself and others accountable for duties performed. Ask for help when needed.

* Prioritize employee and food safety first, facility production second and dumping and loading trucks as the third priority.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Hold a valid driver's license

* Experience managing employees

* Mechanical aptitude

* Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions

* Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships

* Ability to:

* lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

* stand for extended periods of time

* work in dust

* open traps on trailers rucks

* work in confined spaces

* work at significant heights
