Position Overview
The Production General Laborer performs miscellaneous plant duties including direct production tasks and indirect production jobs.
Responsibilities
- General Labor workers will be trained to do various positions including stacking and feeding.
- Workers assist machine operators to keep the orders running and cover when the operators are out.
- Performs general duties such as:
- Stacking corrugated products
- Conducting quality checks
- Material set-ups
- Maintaining, cleaning, and organizing workspaces
- Responsible for correct reporting on time and production sheet.
- Reports irregularities, maintenance needs, and quality problems to Supervisor.
- Performs any required data collection and chart recording related to the quality process.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- No previous plant experience necessary
- Ability to operate complex machinery while adhering to safety regulations
- Generally, requires less than one month to become fully competent on the job
- Must be able to correctly interpret shop orders
- Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure
- Candidates must be able to pass a background, drug screen, and pre-employment physical
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds repetitively and up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per shift
- Overtime is mandatory
