Internship Description:The intern will work directly under the Director of Creative Services and assist in the day-to-day operations of the production team for the Altoona Curve. Activities include video shooting and editing, graphic design, media archiving, and assisting inoff-site productions. Additional game related responsibilities include the tasks of organizing/planning game-day broadcasts/entertainment elements and participating in game-day productions as a lead instructor for the Curve's MiLB broadcasts. Interns will also work together with the entire front office staff to enhance fan experience at Peoples Natural Gas Field. The internship is hands-on, allowing the interns to create many of the videos and graphics seen at the ballpark as well as operating positions that run the Curve's video broadcasts and in-parkBenefits for Intern:The intern will learn all aspects of game-day production from pre-game planning to in-game execution of the daily entertainment scripts. Interns will get the opportunity to work in all positions on the production team during games such as technical director, replay operator, camera operator, roving camera operator and audio operator. Interns will hold a large responsibility in ensuring a strong professional video broadcast occurs by communicating and assisting our part-time camera operators each game. Interns will become familiar with production software in non-linear editing and graphic design all while learning to work cooperatively in a busy and deadline driven environment. This is a paid internship with the opportunity to earn college credit if needed.Skills Needed:
- Bachelor's degree (or working towards degree) in Communications, Broadcasting, Video Production, Graphic Design, or similar field; video/film production experience a plus.
- Candidates must be enthusiastic about sports and have a general understanding of baseball.
- To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of non-linear editing software (Premiere/Final Cut/Avid), Photoshop, with experience working in After Effects strongly preferred, but not required.
- Willing to work long hours and weekends.
