Job Description:
The Production Lead is a key member of the EDCOAT Paintline team. This is an hourly role based in New Carlisle and reports to the Shift Supervisor. This individual is responsible for closely overseeing the daily set-up and processes of both paint lines. The individual in this hands-on role is required to oversee, train and develop new hires, current team members. They are also responsible for delegating daily production work while ensuring that safety, environmental, quality and production goals are met. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assures that all safety rules are followed
  • Able to adjust, operate, and monitor paint line operation
  • Responsible for being the paintline expert
  • Reads and interprets all measuring devices and enter measurements in computer
  • Follows production schedules and adjust and adapt to different paint line problems
  • Performs Paintline quality inspections on coil-by-coil basis based on established coating standards
  • Assures that all machines are operating properly to produce the required products
  • Responsible for directing and/or managing the activities of the Paintline shift to support entire department
  • Troubleshoots and initiates resolutions to manufacturing problems
  • Participates in manufacturing meetings when feasible
  • Promotes and executes all company policies
  • Assists shift supervisor with development and training of Operators
  • Coaches and mentors fellow EDCOAT team members
  • Assesses the work performance of their team members and identifying areas that need improvement

  • Ability to effectively oversee, train, develop, and empower team members and create cohesive Paintline teams to build a strong culture
  • Ability to problem solve and make difficult, time-sensitive decisions under pressure
  • Ability to read and write effectively and communicate well with team and management
  • Possess attention to detail and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize work, balance responsibilities and meet production deadlines through effective time management and organization
Qualifications
  • 1-2 year work experience within a coating/paint line is required
  • Must have an understanding of coating application and lab requirements
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred, but not required
  • Must have a familiarity with using an ERP system
  • Lean or 6-Sigma certification is a plus

  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and heat (proper PPE & safety training will be provided)
