The Production Leader has overall responsibility and accountability for the plant assets, personnel and achievement of the plant related business goals. The role delivers plant based business and administrative leadership to an empowered, work process driven, reliable plant organization. The intent of the job is to provide leadership and support through daily actions, coaching and guidance to the plant teams and individuals.
Responsibilities
* Represent the plant in the development of business strategies and goal-setting processes.
* Contribute to key operational areas, including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), operational costs, asset utilization, and operational reliability, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
* Effectively communicate the business strategy and objectives to plant personnel.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to teams involved in goal and budget setting, challenging them to establish, monitor, and achieve targets that align with the overall business and site strategies.
* Ensuring and monitoring an effective EH&S program in the plant to comply with regulations and permit requirements.
* Provide administrative leadership and coaching to plant personnel, ensuring role clarity, setting clear expectations, overseeing compensation and employee development, managing staff deployment, and driving employee recognition systems.
* Facilitate effective linkages between plant operations and other functions such as Maintenance, EH&S, Site Logistics, and Process Control to ensure seamless collaboration and operational efficiency.
* Oversee and manage day-to-day administrative duties to ensure smooth plant operations and efficient execution of business objectives.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineer or other relevant engineering/science disciplines.
* 10+ years of manufacturing plant experience
* Hazardous materials management
* Demonstrated experience in leading team for results.
* Technically savvy - interested and fluent in engineering and technology applicable to the work environment.
* Strong Communication skills (verbal, written, instructional etc.)
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
