Job Description:
Direct Hire Opportunity in Holly, MI2nd shift schedule: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with rotating weekends (every other Saturday & Sunday) Training is normally completed on 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PMPay: $16.00 + $1.50 shift premium The Production Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in preparing steel wire for our manufacturing per our customers specifications. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include Draw, Pickle Line, Shot Blast, Annealing Furnace, and similar equipment.
  • Processes the required quantity of coils within established specifications and tolerances per customer work order.
  • Measures & visually inspects finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Monitors & reacts to safety alarms.
  • Operate a Hilo (forklift truck with a boom) - in house certification provided.
  • Operate an overhead crane - in house certification provided.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to follow written directions.
  • Work well in a team.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must score 60% of higher on a Bennett Mechanical Assessment.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No related experience required.
  • Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using numeric and hand tools.
  • Performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, stooping, and twisting.
  • Operate Steel Coil Compactor, Banding Wheel, Banding Crimper, and similar equipment.
  • Must have finger dexterity to use calibers.
  • Must be able to Pull wire with 50 pounds of pressure.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder.
