Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Manager (Second Shift)Position Overview:We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Manager for our second shift operations at a leading steel fabrication company specializing in roadway signage, tube structures, overhead signs, and related projects. The ideal candidate will oversee the production process, ensuring that safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met while managing a team of skilled fabricators. This position is essential for maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality products to our clients on time. Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise production operations, managing all aspects of the second shift process to ensure optimal workflow and resource allocation.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of fabricators and support staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols, ensuring that all employees adhere to company and OSHA standards.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes, conducting regular inspections to ensure that products meet specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with upper management to develop production schedules and forecasts, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
  • Identify and resolve production issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity.
  • Oversee material usage and inventory levels, coordinating with purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
  • Prepare and present production reports, metrics, and performance evaluations to upper management, recommending improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production management, preferably in steel fabrication or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a diverse team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes, machinery, and quality control standards specific to the steel industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must be available to work second shift hours, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
