The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production processes with the goal to ensure the efficient production of products that adhere to company, customer and government specifications. The manager is also responsible for production planning, scheduling, staffing, and maintaining high standards of operations while implementing efficient production processes that focus on reducing costs, maximizing output, and eliminating waste at our Wilmington, NC facility. Every manager is expected to perform their jobs safely and efficiently, while working in accordance with our company's GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Quality Assurance and Food Safety Programs. 2nd Shift Hours = ~2:00pm - 11:00pm.What You Will Do At Acme:
- Monitor all aspects of production to ensure compliance with established procedures, standards, and quality expectations.
- Oversee non-production departments operating during the shift, providing relevant feedback to corresponding managers.
- Manage the hiring, training, and development of production personnel.
- Ensure manufacturing and processing staff adhere to health and safety standards, including wearing appropriate sanitary and protective gear.
- Supervise the maintenance, repair, and replacement of production equipment to maintain smooth operations.
- Assign and oversee work tasks for production staff, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Set production goals and implement action plans to meet established targets.
- Conduct SWOT analyses to identify risks and develop contingency plans for projects.
- Prepare and deliver periodic reports to update upper management on production activities and performance.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of processed food products.
- Ensure products are stored under optimum conditions to maintain quality.
- Enforce compliance with company regulations and applicable government legislation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food safety audits, including FDA and BRC standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Management of personnel from different departments operating during the shift.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and development of direct and indirect reports.
- Provide constructive and timely performance feedback to direct and indirect reports.
- Set clear performance expectations, establish goals, and provide regular feedback to drive individual and team success.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Act as a champion of the company's core values and lead by example for direct and indirect reports.
- Establish goals in alignment with organizational objectives.
About YouYour Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or manufacturing engineering, or in a similar discipline with prior experience in a food manufacturing, storage, or handling industry.
- 5+ years in a supervisory role within manufacturing with proven success in a large team (50+ employee) environment.
- At least 5 years' experience in manufacturing, storage, or handling industry including experience as a food production management role is required.
- 5+ years' experience in directing and coordinating the activities of food production personnel to ensure efficient operations.
- Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.

- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and inventory/manufacturing software systems, including Infor/M3 and MES-CAT2.Proven ability to achieve production targets within established timeframes.
- Adaptable in making key production decisions to ensure the manufacturing of high-quality products.
- Skilled in developing and implementing effective solutions for complex manufacturing processes.
- Expertise in project management, process management, and process design/development.
- Team-oriented with a focus on collaboration and efficiency.
- Exceptional time management skills with a strong record of punctuality.
- Committed to completing required training programs, including standards of work.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to spend up to 80% of time in plant environment.
- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks
- Must be able to reach above and below shoulder height to move product. This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility.
- Ability to climb stairs
- The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups.
- The ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job duties.
- The ability to work in cold (32 to 45F) and wet environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
