Summary: We're looking for a Production Manager to oversee production units, each responsible for producing live sports and entertainment events annually, totaling up to 400 events annually. This role involves managing crews, budgets, and final deliveries. The successful candidate will join the company's production team, which operates in various locations in the USA and worldwide. The ideal candidate will be based in the LA, Dallas, New York or Pittsburgh market and will travel to work on the industry's most well-known and immersive sporting events. Past productions include some of the world's most renowned events, such as the Tokyo and Beijing Olympics, Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup in 2018 and 2022, NFL, NBA, NHL, College Football, March Madness, MLS, Champions League Final, Just For Laughs, and many more. Responsibilities:
  • Ensure production operations are properly executed for live sports productions.
  • Manage on-site and remote teams, including staffing agency and contractual aspects.
  • Plan, manage, and track day-to-day production budget and expenses.
  • Oversee production shipment logistics for your production unit with the support of the production coordinator, logistic manager, and support engineer.
  • Supervise operations such as travel and accommodations for crew and/or talent, together with the production coordinator.
  • Troubleshoot production issues with clients or third-party production companies and collaborate with Business Affairs and Legal. This may include contracting, releases, rights, risk assessment, insurance, etc.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • A minimum of five years of production management experience, preferably in sports, TV, or the broadcast industry.
  • Training and qualifications relevant to production & broadcast.
  • Flexibility with working hours to manage up to 2 or 3 sporting events per week.
  • Willingness to travel on-site with crew for up to 20% of productions to oversee and train new crew members or represent the end client on-site.
  • Expertise in budgeting and management, cash flow tracking, production and post-production processes, and logistics, as well as knowledge of broadcast and/or streaming deliverables and technical specifications.
  • Ability to switch between multiple unique projects in different stages of production worldwide (i.e., different time zones).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Diplomatic skills when working on challenging projects.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, comfortable multi-tasking, effective and efficient time management, organized, good problem-solving skills, and self-motivated. Ability to prioritize what's most important at any given moment and adjust as necessary.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to learning new technology, workflows, software, and systems, especially related to immersive productions.
  • Effective communication and good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and remain calm under pressure.
  • Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized.
The annualized base salary range for this position in California and New York is $90,000 to $125,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
