We are currently searching for a Production Manager. This key employee is responsible for managing the overall business activities of our production operations. The Production Manager ensures team goals and objectives are met to exceed customer expectations and provide a superior product. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Planning, directing, and coordinating the manufacturing of products in compliance with company goals and objectives.
* Safely maintain the smooth and timely flow of plant production, ensuring a quality product
* Responsible for supervising a minimum of 3 production supervisors and additional support staff as necessary.
* Develop employees and foster a positive team culture.
* Coordinate with HR to maintain proper employment levels through effective selection, detailed interviewing, and adequate training of all team members.
* Execute periodic team meetings to encourage ongoing communication with all employees.
* Capability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations supporting goals.
* Proactively identify potential problems and points of friction to find solutions in order to maximize quality and efficiency.
* Participate in high-performance teams as needed to meet business objectives.
* Responsible for tracking operations KPIs
* Consistently evaluating processes and team productivity to identify improvement opportunities.
* Implement hour-by-hour boards and team leader-based organization
Qualifications:
* 5 years of demonstrated experience in operations, materials management, and lean manufacturing techniques.
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent (8 years of experience) preferred.
* 3 years of demonstrated experience managing supervisory staff.
* Previous P&L responsibilities
* Strong leadership skills
* Experience working in a medium-sized company (100 - 300 employees)
