Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production activities. This role involves collaboration with various functions such as maintenance, quality, distribution, supply chain, and engineering to ensure operations are safe, efficient, and cost-effective. A strong commitment to Environmental, Health & Safety principles and programs is essential.
Primary Responsibilities
- Recruit, develop, support, and inspire the production team
- Oversee safety, quality, productivity, and fulfillment of customer delivery commitments.
- Manage daily production operations (with a strong emphasis on quality and safety)
- Collect, assess, and report on process metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvement initiatives.
- Promote Lean and 5S methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality through focused processes and corrective action efforts.
- Monitor production performance against company's objectives
- Oversee employee performance and accountability, offering coaching to help the team achieve its full potential.
- Participate in operations project teams focused on new product launches and other manufacturing initiatives.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Experience managing a machine shop or metal fabrication shop is required
- Familiarity with Lean practices is beneficial.
- Experience working within an ERP system
- Lean and Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
