Production Manager - Wyandotte, MI

Where the Chemistry Happens

The Production Manager is responsible for safely and efficiently executing the operations activities in the Wyandotte Dispersions & Resins plant, developing the production team and system capabilities to perform at ever increasing levels of reliability and effectiveness.

Formula for Success:

Provide hands-on leadership for production team; high level of presence in the plant; sets the example for integrity and priorities; utilizes Mindset & Behaviors tools and principles to drive behaviors; accepts responsibility for results. Align production roles & responsibilities and accountability of production coordinators, production/process engineering, and Production Team Leader.

Set high standards for EHS; holding self and team accountable for leading activities and lagging results; places health and safety of team above all other priorities; performs safety contacts and process hazard inspections; visible and accountable; leader of site's Exposure Reduction Process implementation within the Wyandotte Dispersions & Resins operation; expects and demands the highest standards for Process Safety performance at all organizational levels.

Ensures that customer needs drive operational priorities; recognizes and rewards customer focus of team; communicates as needed with supply chain (SC) and commercial teams regarding plant issues which have the potential to impact customers; development of relationships with SC, sales team, and customers as appropriate; supports quality improvement projects and non-conformance management (NCM) to drive first-time-quality (FTQ) and customer satisfaction up.

Creates a culture of Continuous Improvement; seeks ways to reduce cost without compromising safety, reliability, or budget; understands cost drivers and is sensitive to changes; supports quality improvement projects to drive Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) down.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You

Qualifications:

* BS in Engineering or equivalent.

* 10 years or more hands-on experience in complex plant operations and optimization.

* Five or more years in supervisory/management positions, with a proven ability to lead and motive people

* Demonstrated team orientation towards leadership, with success of the company, business unit, and operating team above self. Commitment to Best Team concept in action. Able to work well across multiple priorities and functions

Other:

* Knowledge of Wyandotte Dispersions & Resins manufacturing technologies (to be developed, not a pre-hire job requirement).

* OpEx orientation, including Lean Six Sigma approach to continuous improvement

* Capital Project and maintenance process

* EHS standards and practices, strong commitment to Process Safety excellence

* Root Cause Analysis

* Knowledge of OSHA PSM/EPA/MIOSHA/DEQ regulation and requirements
