Job Description:

Amotec is currently supporting a search for a Production Manager. Located in Cumberland County, PA, our client is an industry-leading manufacturing company. As the Production Manager, you will oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations and facility management, ensuring excellence in product quality, cost efficiency, safety, and employee relations.

Production Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a high-performing manufacturing team to deliver exceptional customer service at optimal cost, while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Manage employee development and training, plant scheduling, recruiting, terminations, customer communications, root cause analysis, financial tracking, safety protocols, supplier evaluations, and continuous process improvement.
  • Drive the Lean Manufacturing journey within the plant, focusing on daily incremental improvements, employee engagement, capacity enhancement, visual management, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Oversee inventory control of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods to ensure operational efficiency and minimal waste.
  • Coach and develop supervisors and team leaders to align their managerial skills with company objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments and levels of the organization to achieve facility and company-wide goals.
  • Maintain the physical plant and grounds to uphold good manufacturing practices and professional standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental permits related to the manufacturing process and facility operations.

Production Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field and proven track record of significant supervisory/management roles in manufacturing is required.
  • Proficient in Lean Manufacturing principles and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in selecting, coaching, and developing employees, conducting performance appraisals, and setting strategic goals.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP proficiency is a bonus.
  • Proven track record of setting strategic direction and leading teams towards operational excellence.
