Production Manager- Back Cove YachtsLocation: Rockland, MaineAbout Us:Join our prestigious yacht manufacturing company, known for a commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and practical elegance. As a sister company to Sabre Yachts, we design and build exceptional Downeast style power yachts for discerning clients. We're looking for a dynamic Production Manager to lead our team of boatbuilders in the assembly of those inboard and outboard powered yachts from 34 to 41 feet in length.Position Overview:The Production Manager will be responsible for directing our team of supervisors and boatbuilding associates in the assembly of our yachts to include mechanical, electrical, hardware, and carpentry operation, along with wooden furniture construction and sheet goods CNC cutting.Key Responsibilities: Prioritize safety in all operations and foster a culture of safety awareness based on OSHA and company specific established safety standards. Actively manage and direct the operations of the production team from the shop floor to ensure efficient production processes. Maintain high quality standards throughout all stages of boatbuilding with a focus on continuous improvement. Focus on a people-first, team-first philosophy to motivate teams to reach daily targets and goals. Collaborate closely with peers in Purchasing, Design, Engineering, Sales, and Safety to advocate for the needs of the production team and streamline processes. Drive HR retention and staff development initiatives to cultivate a skilled and motivated workforce. Implement lean practices to minimize waste while maximizing productivity and efficiency. Develop and maintain the production schedule. Measure productivity and analyze performance. Qualifications: 5+ years of production / manufacturing boatbuilding experience. A positive attitude, exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing diverse teams. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience in HR retention strategies and staff development. Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing needs and prioritize tasks effectively.
