Communicates daily with Production Supervisors, the Assistant Production Manager, Customer Service, and the Plant Manager to plan and implement the daily production schedule. The Production Manager maintains a clean and organized plant, promotes, and enforces company business practices and policies, and promotes and enforces company safety policies.Qualifications
Plans and communicates specific objectives to ensure Production and Fabrication goals are met. - Work with Plant Manager to create business strategy on month by month basis.
- Create production schedule to best implement business strategy and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that extrusion lines have the proper materials, tools, accessories, equipment and paperwork to complete the required jobs.
- Ensure that work Order documentation is completed accurately, initialed by the Shift Supervisor, and returned to QA.
- Ensure that documentation pertaining to raw materials is completed accurately, initialed by the Shift Supervisor, and returned to QA along with properly marked retained samples.
- Ensure set ups and/or die changes are correct and completed within established time frame.
- Ensure all product is run per customer specification and in accordance with all process parameters.
- Interface with Maintenance to ensure malfunctioning equipment is repaired properly and in a timely manner.
- Ensure employee record keeping is accurate and timely; to include timecards, absence requests, employee evaluations, personnel record changes, transfers, progressive discipline, etc.
- Support production team of operators and packers using hands on management of extrusion machines and packing processes.
- Ensure that production Supervisors and Leadmen routinely inspect and audit production lines to ensure safety, quality product and efficient production runs.
- Work closely with all departments to promote continuous improvement.
- Work closely with all departments to implement and enforce CAPA's.
- Ensure that Production Supervisors, Leads, Packers, Operators, and Grinder Operators are properly trained.
- Determine training needs.
- All Production Supervisors have successfully completed the Training Program.
- Participate in the hiring process for production. Including, interviewing, onboarding, and training.
- Ensure that each employee supervised is competent or receives training on safe operation of specific equipment or tasks before starting work on that project or equipment.
- Ensure completion of training plan for all production employees.
- Maintain a clean and organized plant.
- Work with Logistics team to ensure proper rotation and efficient storage of all materials used for production.
- Ensure that production team has adequate cleaning supplies and adheres to cleaning schedule.
- Promote 5s plan for every department and work with Plant Management to identify improvement items and implement them.
- Promote and enforce company business practices and policies.
- Work with Customer Service and Plant Manager to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient management of expedite program.
- Employee Engagement
- Take corrective action and employ progressive discipline policy for unacceptable conduct and attendance issues.
- Perform ongoing and annual performance reviews with production personnel.
- Set up and conduct monthly crew meetings with Shift Supervisors, Leads, and the Assistant Production Manager.
- Attend scheduled Staff Meetings.
- Attend and participate in scheduled Managers' Meetings.
- Provide daily and monthly reports to management.
- Ensure employee growth and development and the ability to meet Spectrum Plastics Group performance standards.

- Read, understand, and enforce the company Safety Manual.
- Ensure that all Production and Fabrication employees wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) to include safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, arm protection for certain tasks, face masks, and other PPE as needed.
- Complete a daily walk-around safety check of the plant and promptly take corrective action for any hazards discovered and immediately report all safety hazards to the appropriate department for remediation.
- Ensure accidents are documented and report all accidents on 'Employee and Supervisor Report of Accident' forms, and near misses and forward to Safety Management.
- Ensure that employees are supervised for compliance with safety rules contained in or referenced by the company safety program. Provide training and take corrective action as necessary.
- Provide information to management suggesting changes to work practices or equipment that will improve employee safety.
- Set a good example for employees by following established safety rules and attending required training. Promote a culture of safety.
- Uphold company policies pertaining to visitors and site security.
- Respect our Safety policy, follow Safety Absolutes and promote Safety all the time.

- Experience in a related field.
- Ability to fluently speak, read and write Spanish and English.
