Job Summary:
The Production Manager independently communicates, executes, and improves the company's manufacturing and maintenance processes. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in production planning and contract review
- Assigning, prioritizing, supervising, and evaluating subordinates' work in manufacturing, product inspection, and equipment/facility maintenance
- Managing and reporting on preventive maintenance activities
- Providing necessary training for safe equipment setup and operation, and proper part cleaning, handling, and inspection techniques
- Communicating with customers and suppliers on quality and delivery issues, and resolving complaints, problems, and questions
- Facilitating problem-solving and improvement activities
- Ensuring product accountability and traceability
- Assisting in the development and communication of company goals, policies, and objectives
- Preparing and presenting results and reports to corporate management
- Developing and guiding subordinates toward achieving company goals
- Ensuring compliance with safe work practices
Experience (Preferred):
- Minimum four years of EDM manufacturing and setup (optional)
- CNC Conventional Machining experience
- Minimum three years of supervisory experience
- Minimum three years of ISO9000-based Quality Management System experience
- Understanding of standard mechanical inspection tools and techniques
- Understanding of manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance systems
- Knowledge of AS9100 and Nadcap Nonconventional Machining requirements (desired)
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to make personnel decisions based on productivity, quality, and competency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Education (Preferred):
- High school diploma required
- Minimum of two years of college-level courses preferred
- Industrial Management courses desired
- Life skills and previous job training will be evaluated at the time of hire
Competency:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (including GD&T)
- Ability to read, understand, and follow documented specifications, procedures, and instructions
- Ability to supervise, direct, coordinate, and evaluate subordinates' work
- Ability to plan and prioritize work, and organize and lead projects
- Ability to develop and assist in the development of effective and efficient manufacturing methods/processes
- Ability to develop and direct equipment/facility maintenance activities and report results
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and complete required records
- Ability to provide appropriate training to subordinates, setting clear paths and following up regularly
- Ability to attend, complete, and lead required training events (ref. Skills Versatility Matrices)
- Ability to ensure employee adherence to company safety policies and practices
- Ability to work independently
Hours Required:
To effectively cover first and second-shift hours, as well as possible weekend hours based on need.
