  • The Production Manager (Lighting) Acts as the Lighting Engineer for all touring shows and events, providing professional lighting support as the Master Electrician, Lighting Coordinator or Lighting Director. Responsibilities include preparing, hanging, circuiting, programming, and focusing stage lighting fixtures, as well as restoring all lighting equipment for each touring show and event.
    • Responsible for overseeing all lighting operations in compliance with GPAC's vision and mission for excellence. This includes the planning, development, set-up, testing, implementation, and maintenance of equipment used for lighting production of professional, university, and community performances, tours and events.
    • Demonstrates excellent customer service to all patrons, artists, and clients while providing lighting support for all performances, tours and events. Advises during presenting and rental contract negotiations as to the lighting systems and power capabilities of the spaces and available equipment. Reviews, interprets, and executes all technical riders and lighting requests of user groups. Presents written estimates of cost of labor and materials for each event to Director of Production in a timely manner.
    • Creates and updates lighting operational systems and specifications for the facility. Manages inventory, storage, repair, and preventative maintenance of all lighting tools and equipment. Updates software and hardware needs in keeping with ongoing current standards for performing arts venues. Maintains accurate inventories of equipment and consumables.
    • Monitors and implements industry best practices in lighting rigging and installation, particularly in relation to health & safety, in all GPAC spaces. Provide regular updates to the Director of Production in all areas of responsibility.
    • Trains and supervises students, TES, and part-time employees involved in lighting production operations of the GPAC. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree OR
        • Associate's degree or vocational certificate plus 2 years of experience with theater operations, including audio, video, or lighting systems, as well as stage operations, for live performances and/or touring productions. OR
          • High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience with theater operations, including audio, video, or lighting systems, as well as stage operations, for live performances and/or touring productions. Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications Minimum Skills and Abilities
            • Extensive knowledge of the methods, tools, and techniques used in the lighting elements of production.
            • Knowledge of basic rigging safety and technique.
            • Knowledge of Microsoft Office environment.
            • Knowledge and proficiency safely working at heights.
            • Exceptional communication and collaborative skills with demonstrated ability to lead a team.
            • Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and to establish and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
            • Extensive knowledge of the methods, tools, and techniques used in the lighting elements of production.
            • Strong working knowledge and proficiency with ETC dimmers and consoles.
            • Strong working knowledge of programming, maintaining, and repairing conventional, LED, and moving lights.
            • Working knowledge of ETC architectural lighting control systems.
            • Knowledge and experience with GrandMA consoles preferred.
            • Working knowledge of AC and DC electricity and company switches.
            • Strong working knowledge of DMX and Ethernet data control systems.
            • Knowledge of proper operation and maintenance of chain motors and pit lifts. Minimum Technology Skills Minimum License and Certifications Desired Qualifications Desired Qualifications
