We are working with a national dairy manufacturer seeking a Production Manager in their Norfolk, NE facility. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production during the night shift working on a rotating schedule. This individual will ensure that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dairy production and management, with the ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all production activities during the night shift, including milk processing, packaging, and sanitation procedures.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing levels and workflow as needed to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Train and develop production staff to ensure proficiency in operating equipment and following standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as quality assurance and maintenance, to address any issues or concerns that may arise during production.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports to track productivity, efficiency, and quality metrics.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
- Assist with inventory management and control to ensure adequate supplies are available for production.
- Communicate effectively with management and other team members to provide updates on production status, issues, and potential solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dairy processing techniques, equipment, and sanitation practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage team members.
- Proven ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in food manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
- Willingness to work night shifts and weekends as needed.
