Job Description:

ALMACO in Nevada, IA is now recruiting for a Production Manager role. This role will manage people and processes in the Parts Fabrication department, which includes Welding, Fabricating, Machine Shop, and Material Prep areas. This position leads and manages at a high level while staying accountable for the work that needs to be done, focusing on people, processes, and products. They champion safety, quality, and client-focused efforts. They coordinate and prioritize all production activities to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow through manufacturing processes. They work with Engineering and Quality Assurance to know, understand, and convey all product quality standards, ensuring quality is built into ALMACO products during manufacturing. This is a full-time, exempt position. You will work fully on-site at our headquarters in Nevada, Iowa. Why this job is a great fit for you:

This Position's Focus:
  • Provide leadership to 30-40 skilled employees who are building metal parts and assemblies for agricultural and industrial equipment.
  • Organize and manage the production plan, including staffing, procurement of components, inventory, and related systems to ensure on-time delivery and internal client delight.
  • Builds systems and processes to ensure that manufacturing projects are completed on time to meet client shipping expectations.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Service, Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering to create solutions for clients and maintain expectations for timelines and goals.
  • Builds processes to improve the flow of manufactured parts through the area in partnership with other Production Managers.
  • Builds resilient and skilled teams through coaching, staffing decisions, and leading by example.
  • Collaborates across all departments to build culture and make improvements in the organization.
  • Tracks and audits manufacturing hours for reporting, performance measurement, and product costing, and develops and tracks metrics and KPIs to drive data-based decisions and improve productivity.
  • Champions safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Contributes to tactical and strategic plans for organizational growth and improvement, including long-range planning with the Executive Leadership Team.
What we are looking for in this position:
  • Five years of closely related and successful supervision or leadership in equipment manufacturing are required.
  • Understanding of machining, material prep, welding, and other manufacturing processes is required.
  • The ability to create an inclusive workplace that helps others grow, encourages teamwork, and handles conflict constructively.
  • The ability to drive results using technical know-how, problem-solving, and risk assessment.
  • The ability to respectfully communicate within the organization and to external clients, vendors, and partners, in small and large groups.
  • A Driver's License is required.
