Job Description:

Nassau Candy is a leading importer, manufacturer and distributor of candy, specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Production Operations Associate to join our team on-site in Hicksville.

The Production Operations Associate is responsible for ensuring customer commitments are met by coordinating and overseeing orders. Directly communicates with manufacturing to ensure teams receive accurate production orders by clarifying customer expectations, validating order requirements, and ensuring product components are available.

The ideal candidate must possess a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks. The ability to work in a fast- paced environment while delivering high quality results is essential.

Essential Functions

  • Performs account set-up by completing vendor paperwork – includes all relevant information (HQ address, minimum order details, shelf-life requirements, etc.)
  • Responsible for new customer, new vendor, and new item set-up
  • Ensures the consistent, accurate entry of EDI information on customer portals
  • Understands the manufacturing process – possesses the ability to validate production orders, correct issues, and direct team members as needed
  • Partners with Product Development to develop and deliver products that meet customer and business requirements
  • Able to verify information and ask the right questions to initiate a new product
  • Ensures products meet established standards and that details are classified properly
  • Ability to support operations and plan for production needs
  • Ability to assess and prioritize tasks according to their urgency is crucial.
  • Regularly maintains and updates customized price lists
  • May perform other duties or work on other projects as required by the Department.

Minimum Requirements

  • Two (2) years' experience in a comparable role in production / manufacturing
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft tools/applications and EDI; systems oriented
  • Advanced Excel skills (complex spreadsheets, x-lookup, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Outstanding problem-solving and planning skills
  • Passion for meeting and exceeding customer expectations
  • Prioritizing and completing task within tight deadlines
