DescriptionEpsilyte in Peru, IL is seeking a Production Operator to become part of our Operations team. An operator's goal is to ensure that the production process runs safely, smoothly, and produces quality results. If you are looking for a career move with a bright future, we need to hear from you!Position Duties/Responsibilities:Monitor and control five chemical batch reactors through computerized systemMeasure chemicals and add to processPerform housekeeping and maintain a safe working environmentAdhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines and proceduresOperate reactors and equipment to expected performance levelsWork in a team environment where your contributions are encouraged, recognized, and valuedAny other duties as deemed necessaryRequirementsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentAssociate degree or Certificate in related technical field is preferredThis role is scheduled for rotating 12-hour shifts. Must be able and available to work days, nights, overtime, weekends, and holidaysRelated work experience in chemical plant, industrial/manufacturing, or military is preferredThe ideal applicant will be proficient in math, reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Able to follow detailed instructions and record precise chemical process information.Demonstrated computer proficiency is requiredOther Considerations:Current starting rate is $30.99/hour with annual contractual increasesPhysical requirements - Must be able to walk/stand/bend/stoop, raise and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders. Wearing personal protective equipment (FR clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, heeled boots and hearing protection) including the use of a respirator is required. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.Must be willing to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances in all weather conditionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills as well as outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team are critical for successThis role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing rule or TWIC and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific timeThis role is not eligible for work visa sponsorshipAbout Epsilyte:Epsilyte LLC is one of North America's leading producers of expandable polystyrene resin (EPS).
