Tends machines such as saws, draw benches, spinning machines, vapor de-greasers, and furnaces that cut, stretch, shape, anneal, and clean tubes by performing the following duties.Responsibilities & DutiesReads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.Performsminor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.Assists machine operators to set up machines, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.Communicates to management and peers regarding quality, preventative maintenance, customer focus, and equipment issues, concerns, and improvement initiatives.Participates in Continuous Improvement Initiatives and supports a flexible team environment that best suits all PTC initiatives.Assists with identifying and implementing process improvement.Follows work instructions and procedures.Interpersonal Skills - The individual interacts with co-workers in a positive manner.Communication - The individual communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.Quality Control - The individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.Dependability - The individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.Safety & Security - The individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience is preferred.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Work Conditions / Physical RequirementsThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
