To add to our valuable team of dedicated employees, we are currently seeking a Production Planner to support both the Acigne and Quapaw sites in Infrared Optics. With the ability to be located at either site. What you will be doing Planning:
- Responsible for the creation of production schedules and order due date management of multiple work cells for both the Quapaw and Acigne manufacturing sites.
- Meets and exceeds area goals and objectives, On Time Delivery and Inventory goals. (accountable for area performance in Materials Management)
- Creates, maintains and improves the quality and consistency of master data in the ERP system to maintain an efficient planning system
- Develop and set-up the planning tool within the ERP
- Initiates work orders with appropriate lot sizes to ensure efficient and low-cost production, timely delivery, and maintenance of adequate inventory levels. Works with MRP messages to assure efficient flow.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to support ship dates on customer orders at multiple sites.
- Resolve production issues and bottlenecks to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Coordinates contingency plans to achieve delivery promises when deviations occur or properly adjusts due dates in the system and informs Customer Service.
- Coordinates the supply of materials and subcontract operations to meet production schedules.
- Analyses current inventory for excess and obsolete items and maintain proper inventory levels and quality per policies and procedures.
- Determines, recommends and provides for alternatives when demands exceed capacities. Recommends, implements, and documents new procedures and policies to improve the effectiveness of the operation.
Sales communication:
- Is the point of contact of sales for lead times
- Provide pro-active communication to sales with regards to lead times and delivery date
Safety:
- Integrate safety aspects in planning expectations and raise safety concerns associated to production saturation situation
- Actively participate in business and site safety related initiatives
- Makes safety dialogs and lead by exemplarity
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Committed to 5S program in workspace
- Assist in ISO, inventory and environmental audits as needed
Who we are looking for
- Experience in a MRP environment is highly preferred, (SAP experience a plus).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to coordinate multiple locations.
- Initiates continuous and effective communications between Customer Service and the production area.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people to include various levels and disciplines.
- ASCM certification a plus, (formerly APICS)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Maintain visibility on the floor to promote success among workers and to monitor the status production plan.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels in the organization (domestic, abroad, and suppliers).
- Team player and be able to work independently.
- Must be able to identify problems, analyse, and recommend solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure in an ever-evolving environment
Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B.
