Unless specifically stated otherwise, this role is On-Site at the location detailed in the job post.This is an Exempt Level PositionPosition Summary: The Production Planner will plan, prepare and control production schedules as well as coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelops a production schedule to meet customer ordersAdvises management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure materials are provided as needed.Confirms material supply and demands and prepares work ordersCoordinates interdepartmental activity with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Inventory Control and Logistics.Checks availability of raw materials prior to releasing work orders.Initiates work orders in accordance with MRP scheduling requirements.Checks on progress of work in process through the MRP system and expedites as required.Prepares and maintains shortage reports, identifies potential problems and communicates requirements and status of supply orders.Performs maintenance on supply orders as required to supports schedule changes.Assists in determining possible and actual shortages of raw materials. Initiates actions to correct these deficiencies.Uses knowledge of production and procurement to alert teams regarding potential problems and give appropriate remedial actions. Participate in the safety committee and food safety teamsAdditional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Management, Associates Degree in Management (or equivalent experience) supplemented with a minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience in food/flavor/ingredients manufacturingEquivalent combination of education and experience will be strongly consideredMust have a proven ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment with superior verbal and written communication skillMust be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships and employee development with demonstrated leadership and motivational skills Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies & safety programsDemonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment and results driven to provide support and achieve goals established by the divisionProven ability to assess business and financial risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisionsPhysical Demands:Employees in this position working at this location are [or may be] exposed to various potential chemical and food allergens due to the nature of our business and the requirements of the job.
