Overview:

Job Title: Production Planner

Job Location: Williamsport, PA

Plan and control all scheduling activities supporting Stellant Systems product base. Balancing production and inventory levels with demand to support targets, in support of 98% customer service levels, 4 inventory turn goals and 80% capacity utilization and staffing requirements/budget.

Work with Sales and Product Management to develop and manage long range sales forecast, material planning, hence inventory optimization, obsolescence and lead times reductions.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business process improvement.
  • Further develop existing forecast and supply programs to improve current days of inventory and cash cycle.
  • Improve forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and projects.
  • Analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
  • Drive, promote and develop positive communication with Marketing and Sales to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain Forecast, master schedule and procurement plan based on historical data,seasonality and sales opportunities.
  • Review and update forecast, production schedules and aggregate material requirements
  • By using MRP action messages, proactively review material supply and demand and determine potential negative impact of push/pull activities, to Manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Coordinate and plan materials requirements for new product introductions, as required, including review of new BOMs and cut-in dates for build verification and production units.
  • As the ECO implementation coordinator, work collaboratively with Engineering, Inventory production control and Procurement teams, to implement Engineering Changes.
  • Assess any potential negative impact to material availability and production schedules, as driven by customer sales opportunities within the frozen period.
  • Along with purchasing and PC, review material shortages, and safety stock levels, to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist in the resolution of MRP and production scheduling discrepancies.
  • Work collaboratively to implement innovative inventory optimization business practices, i.e. NCMRs follow-up esolution and MRB weekly reviews.
  • Work closely with Buyers, PC planners and Finance, to determine the appropriate levels of safety stock for components, thus reducing lead times, in support of customer service
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with complex planning, forecasting and product lifecycle programs.
  • Experience with Purchasing/Materials tools (MRP and Inventory analysis).
  • Proven people skills required, must have ability to work with others, by effectively managing conflict with positive power and influence skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
  • Organizational and problem solving skills required.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of Supply Chain/Master Scheduling experience and Bachelors degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • Experience in analysis and negotiation of costed bills of materials to formulate a fair and ethical quote review.
  • LEAN SIX SIGMA tool kit-experience and understanding, strongly desired.
  • APICS certification preferred
