The Production Planner will prepare and communicate the production plan and schedule based upon available forecast requirements, other relevant sources, and management expectations. This will be accomplished through interface between the manufacturing/operations, purchasing, engineering and inventory control functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Production Plan based upon the existing backlog, forecast requirements, promotional requirements, and company inventory guidelines.
  • Develop a schedule that utilizes labor, materials, and machinery in an efficient and cost-conscious manner.
  • Prepare and issue Work Orders to support that schedule and maintain MRP accuracy.
  • Provide assistance in ensuring that components and services are available in a timely manner required for production.
  • Creates and issues weekly production schedule.
  • Communicate production requirements to Engineering & Purchasing to ensure that the required materials are available, and capacities are reserved to meet required production demand.
  • Manage all inventory transfers into appropriate bin locations.
  • Review and update as needed customer requirements entered into IQMS in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate with appropriate manufacturing personnel the solution to problems related to the Production Schedule, such as material shortage status, rejection, scrap, re-work, etc.
  • Analyze material shortages, review order progress, and adjust plans and schedules as necessary.
  • Help organize material flow.
  • Coordinate and communicate all plans, schedules, changes and modifications to appropriate personnel in Production, Engineering, and Quality Departments.
  • Provide weekly reporting of production output compared to stated goals.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of ATI's systems for managing Work-In-Process (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) inventory.
  • Evaluate existing production activity to ensure focus on core competencies and identify future growth opportunities to maximize use of resources and capabilities.
  • Communicate daily with production team, quality department, and management top priorities/concerns and resolve all delivery or quality issues in a timely fashion.
  • Work as team with all levels and functional areas of the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of related Planning/Scheduling experience are required; OR CPIM, CIRM, or CPM certification.
  • Demonstrated MRP knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced and demanding manufacturing environment is required.
  • Excellent analytical skills and flexibility to changing work schedules are required.
  • Strong computer skills in Windows Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, etc.) are required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, manufacturing, or related field preferred
