Job Description:

Details: L.J Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as a Production Planner with our clients based in West Nyack, NY. This role involves creating and maintaining production schedules, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that materials and resources are available when needed. The Production Planner works closely with various departments, including procurement, production, and logistics, to align production goals with company objectives and reports to the Planning Manager. Work will be done in a cosmetic manufacturing plant. Planning:

  • Feasibility, release and execute work orders (bulks, bases, WIPs, and finished goods)
  • Communicate plans to production, customer service and management
  • Maintain dates, quantities, and statuses in SAP
  • Review of MRP run (Alert Monitor)
  • Manage orders to minimize inventory obsolescence
  • Daily maintenance of assigned Planning Boards
  • Follow Operating Work Instructions for Planning and as per the Planning Manager
Scheduling:
  • Production Plan to be finalized and reflected on the MPSA for DDS review
  • Review Monthly RCCP for assigned work centers to ensure that Supply Chain can support all program requirements
  • Monitors the customer service commitments and assign priorities based on customer needs and production availability
  • Publish and perform root cause analyses on key metrics including Customer Service Level, Actual vs. Scheduled Productions and Master Schedule Stability
  • Interact frequently with manufacturing personnel to balance demand and customer service commitments
  • Identify MPSA outages and reflect weekly, then monthly during the Supply Chain reviews
  • Participate in meetings and keep up to date on issues related to Manufacturing, Planning, New Product introductions, Line Fill Rates, Metrics, and other related Supply Chain issues
Job Requirements Details:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • 3-5 years manufacturing shop floor planning experience
  • ERP System experience (SAP preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain processes
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
