Job Description:

AP Professionals has partnered with a local manufacturing company that is searching for a Production Planner/ Scheduler to join their dynamic team! The Production Planner will work to create, deliver, and maintain the production schedule. Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure all scheduled jobs are ready to hit the floor and be completed on time. 3-5+ years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment required. Precision manufacturing a plus!

This position is a direct hire, full-time role that requires onsite work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide delivery timelines based on the production schedule and track the initiation and progress of all projects using the ERP system.
  • Expedite orders as necessary to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Oversee the progress of blanket orders (stock jobs) throughout the production process.
  • Regularly update the schedule to accommodate potential re-routing or changes in workflow.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to adjust expected arrival dates for incoming goods.
  • Review outsourced tasks within projects to ensure purchase order timing aligns with successful project completion.
  • Act as a liaison between sales demand and operational capacity, optimizing resource use while meeting customer needs.
  • Ensure all steps in the ARP process are completed before releasing jobs to operations.
  • Plan larger projects to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Track the scheduled start and end dates of all jobs using the ERP scheduling module and provide weekly progress updates.
  • Review quotes for incoming jobs as needed, ensuring alignment on lead times to set accurate customer expectations.
  • Recommend outsourcing opportunities to optimize shop floor activities and improve overall company efficiency cost-effectively.
  • Utilize the ERP system to access customer information, stock status, and purchase order updates, and suggest changes to customer orders as needed.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or a similar role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing process, from material receipt to parts shipment.
  • Familiarity with MRP or ERP systems for order entry, shipping, purchasing, and receiving, with a preference for JobBoss2.
