We are looking to fill a 1st shift position in our Planning Department. Below are the preferred skills, duties, and responsibilities you will have performing as our Production Planner. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Availability to work 1st shift • Required: High School/GED diploma or vocational school equivalent • Preferred: Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous. • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Management, or related field • Preferred: 2 years' experience in related field • Preferred: Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software. • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills • Ability to manage priorities and workflow. • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. • Proficient on Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. • Experience with Infor or another ERP System JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES • Plans and establishes production orders for a wide variety of manufacturing departments involving diversified piece parts, assemblies, or tooling to conform with master production schedules. • Ensures proper allocation to work center, load, capacity, and efficient utilization of equipment to include forecast planning. • Monitors and tracks material inventories, production progress, and other factors that affect schedules. • Modifies and adapts production orders and schedules; issues order changes to accommodate revisions, cancellations, or priorities. • Interfaces with all appropriate departments/staff in schedule creation, progress updates, problem analysis, and corrective action recommendations. • Prepares all required reports, paperwork, and correspondence. • Develops Job Packets in alignment with Production needs. • Updates production orders to report status. • Monitors and updates production material safety stock, reorder points, minimum/maximum production amount. • Works with other departments to monitor and update Bill of Materials and Routings for production material. • Assists Purchasing with prioritization of order placement. • Ensure all packets have proper corresponding documentation per the schedule and that the packet is given out to the proper departments. • Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement. • On-going communication with all departmental personnel to ensure a common understanding of production packets and the schedule. • Ensure all packets are made and presented 2 weeks prior to the scheduled start date determined by scheduling. • Performs other related duties as assigned by management. *LMT Defense is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
