Job Description:
Job Summary:The Production Planner is responsible for managing production schedules to ensure on time delivery. This role involves collaborating with various departments (machine shop, composite fabrication, textiles, paint, etc.) to align production capabilities with customer demand while maintaining inventory levels.Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Scheduling: Work with Director of Operations to create and maintain detailed production schedules based on schedule forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of raw materials and finished goods, minimizing excess stock and shortages.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to coordinate production activities and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and implement improvements in the production process.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, inventory status, and capacity utilization to management.
  • Problem Solving: Address production issues, such as delays or material shortages, and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives to improve production efficiency, quality, and safety.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field desired.
  • Proven experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in production planning software (MindManager) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
