What to Expect?The Planning Expediter is responsible to ensure that all production departments have all products, materials, and supplies needed for the efficient and uninterrupted operation of each production line in the plant. A key position in our organization, the Planning Expediter must be organized, detail oriented, have strong communication skills, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.On a daily basis our Production Planning Expediter:
  • Regularly collaborates with production planner, supervisors, material support specialist and warehouse support management.
  • Prints pull sheets for each department's schedule and coordinates moves with warehouse support handlers and production material support specialist.
  • Verifies pulls 24-hours in advance to ensure that production has the correct quantity of components needed to execute the production plan.
  • Proficient in tracking orders, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to each production area.
  • Monitors in-process inventory quantities of packaging items, masters, labels, raw chemical, and all other materials required for the production departments to run un-interrupted throughout the shift.
  • Monitors and controls inventory with complete integrity.
  • Confirms pulled material is accurate against pull sheets prior to releasing to the production areas.
  • Assists production planner with tasks as assigned.
  • Takes appropriate steps to segregate and manage non-conforming material.
  • Able to safely operate reaches and walkies.
  • Any other duties, as assigned.
What You Will Need:
  • Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing company policy on Safety, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), housekeeping, material handling and operation standards.
  • Extremely well organized with an ability to prioritize work, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Understanding of basic industrial math skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and AS400 (J.D. Edwards).
  • Looks for and communicates opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to delegate with empathy and compassion toward other employees.
