Production & Retail Food Services Supervisor **Position Summary:**

The Supervisor, Production & Retail Food Services, will be responsible to report to the Manager of Food and Nutrition Services, assisting the Manager in meeting the overall responsibilities and objectives of the Department. Provides daily direction to the Production and Retail / Catering Staff to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of meal services. Maintains on-going professional communication with the Manager of Food & Nutrition Services, Food & Nutrition Staff, patients, visitors and other staff members. Staff to operate within the established norms for meal preparation, assembly and distribution standards, productivity, preventive maintenance and customer service.. Carries out Quality Control procedures on the services delivered by the Food & Nutrition Services Department **Qualifications:**

* Implementing and maintaining inventory control standards for Food and Nutrition Services.

* Development and maintenance of Production Staff workflow and processes, including production sheets and standardized recipes.

* Daily reconciliation of Point of Sale System and regular reporting of sales /income generated.

* Meets or exceeds HDGH expectations for Retail and Catering Food Quality and Customer Service while meeting targets for sales, food and labour costs

* Holds the responsibility to be due diligent towards staff members-assigning work that is not in violation of any Occupational and Health and Safety Acts.

* Planning, Development, Implementation and Costing of menu items for Food & Nutrition Services

* Provides front line supervision to Production, TSC, Stock and Retail/Catering Staff members

* Participates in activities leading to the development, revision and implementation of Departmental and Organizational policies and procedures.

* Conducts Quality Control audits and checks on services delivered by the department

* Develops and maintains the equipment, chemical and supply needs of the department

* Ensures adequate staffing needs are met in order to provide the daily services required by the organization

* Reviews and reassigns daily assignments as needed as well as replace any vacant position(s)

* Administers counseling and disciplinary action as deemed necessary with direction from Human Resources

* Complies with all local, provincial and federal regulations

**Education and/or Certification:**

Must have Grade 12 education

Graduate (Certificate) from Canadian Hospital Association Food Service Supervisor Program required

Several years in a leadership role preferable in a Food Production area within a health care setting required

Several years in a quick service restaurant/catering/hospitality setting an asset

Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office Softwares: Excel, Outlook & Word

Ability to work as a team player and practice exceptional leadership skills

Effectively co-ordinate and prioritize work with having the ability to cope with high levels of stress

Ability to direct and supervise staff.

Must possess tact and courtesy in dealing with employees and other persons in the hospital.

Effective communication skills; verbal & written

Excellent communication skills with the command of the French language considered an asset.
