Ready to be part of our team?We are looking for a Production Scheduler/Inventory Controller for our Mattoon, IL office!Essential Duties:

  • Update and Manage Production schedule(s)
  • Work closely with Production Manager to ensure that an optimum amount of product is being produced
  • Prepare production paperwork & packages for the shop floor
  • Provide daily schedules to each process
  • Attend daily and weekly Meetings.
  • Is the point of contact for customer service to advise on lead time and job status
  • Correspond with Customer Service, Purchasing and Production to resolve schedule conflicts by presenting various alternatives
  • Provides information to shipping that product is ready to ship.
  • Provide 6 weekly forecast by product type.
  • Use planning tools to determine if production will be constrained in future periods; identify potential corrective actions such as: additional production shifts, expediting or interplant transfers.
  • Review Schedule daily with Plant Manager
  • Liaise with Production Manager to maintain short lead times by adjusting shift hours or shifts as necessary to flex to meet demands.
  • Point of contact for production related inquiries from Customer Service and responsible for providing accurate and timely lead time estimates and order status information.
  • Assign priorities based on customer needs and product availability.
  • Ability to communicate alarms or warnings clearly, concisely and quickly and take appropriate action.
  • Schedule requirements based on product campaigns while trying to successfully meet customer delivery requests
  • Manage inbound schedule and deliveries of core material for production
  • Help resolve customer problems and any warranty issues
  • Cross Reference Shift reports with schedule to ensure compliance to schedule.
  • Assist in the development of localized policies and procedures related to the control of production inventory.
  • Work with Operations personnel to ensure a clear shared understanding of the importance of inventory accuracy.
  • Work with the Quality Department to ensure damaged products are accurately captured and removed from inventory.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled audits of inventory to ensure count integrity.
  • Perform scheduled cycle counts and participate in or coordinate yearly physical inventories.
  • Perform root cause analysis related to cycle count inaccuracies and drive improvements.
  • Painted coil receiving and coil movement transactions.
  • Establish an ongoing culture of cleanliness and order within inventory/storage area.
  • Promote and sustain management programs designed to continuously improve internal processes.
  • Provides performance feedback to team members on a scheduled basis.
  • All other duties assigned as required.
  • Ensure adherence to management systems in accordance with ISO standards 9001,14001,45001, and 37301
Education/Experience:
  • College degree or five years' experience in scheduling and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of materials processes, complex BOM environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to focus on complex tasks.
  • Continuous Improvement experience and Lean Manufacturing Focused.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels of management.
  • Project management and ability to lead teams including hourly staff.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Computer Skills:
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and Outlook.
Other Skills and Requirements:
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
