The purpose of the Production Scheduler is to create an achievable production schedule through coordinating the inventory needs of the Distribution Center, timing of incoming raw materials, and plant production capacities.KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages SAP MRP program to determine orders that need to be producedReviews current stock and past sales history to determine products to be producedCreates work orders in SAP for purchasing to order raw materialsMaintain safety stock on all filled inventory items to ensure demand needsMaintains Master Production ScheduleMaintains reports for daily and monthly productionSchedule production for smooth product flow and minimal changeoversSchedule production of products for maximize efficienciesMaintains a rolling two-week Production Schedule along with forecast of 30 daysConfirms receipt of raw materials for production schedule and if not follow up with purchasing for delivery dateEnsure labels for production are printed to distribute with work ordersWorks with Blending Department to ensure blends are timely to align with production scheduleCheck finished blends for approval before sending work orders to the floorCommunicate and distributes work orders for daily productionReviews building materials for items that need to be cycle countedEstablish and communicate the priority shipments to Customer Service and Warehouse DepartmentsEnter production work orders and issue raw materials. Responsible for finished goods count and raw materials verification in SAPWorks with production manager and production supervisor on priority of work ordersSchedule outsourced production runs with independent suppliersMust comply with all plant safety guidelinesSupports the strategic and operational direction of the businessAdditional duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:Bachelor's degreeProficient in SAP MRP SystemGood computer skills including JDE and Microsoft Office -Excel, Word, and OutlookPrior experience in a planning/scheduling role in a blending/production environmentPREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain or FinanceCOMPETENCIES:Excellent multitasking skillsSelf-motivated and detailed-orientedExcellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with individuals both inside and outside the companyFosters positive work relationships and is a solid team playerAble to complete projects in a timely manner and get resultsMulti-dimensional skills regarding current planning and expanding to anticipate future needs of the organizationDemonstrated critical thinking skillsAbility to make good decisions using sound judgement within a short timeframeDemonstration of Calumet Values - Safety, Environment & Social Responsibility, Teamwork, Ownership, Passion for Customers, and Excellence Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
