Fueled by a series of strategic acquisitions since its formation in 2018, Meridian has established itself as an adhesive technology leader for a broad, global, blue-chip customer base comprised of OEMs, distributors, and industrial clients with an expanding global footprint.SUMMARYWe are seeking a Production Manager for our American Sealants, Inc. division to support the planning, and scheduling of raw materials (chemical, packaging, contract manufacturing, Turnkey FG, MRO) utilizing MRP to order and maintain necessary stock levels required for production requirements. Works with Logistics, Planning, Sales and Production functions to coordinate production planning to meet customer demand.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Includes the following under direct supervision:Assists in preparation of instructions and SOP's.Analyzes inventory turns and levels for each product line with the Sales Department and determines appropriate stock levels for each warehouse location according to a Just-in-Time approach.Assists with regularly scheduled cycle counts and physical inventory counts.Providing effective and timely production schedules to maintain adequate amounts of finished productAssists with the accurate and timely posting of batch ticketsPosts completed production, analyzes formula changes and corrects used quantities as requiredSchedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levelsEvaluate suppliers or quality, timeliness and match according to goals.Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory.Address issues regarding quality and productionProduce reports based on findings and performance of production.Manage deadlines based on project expectations.Other duties and responsibilities may be assignedQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION, SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Business Administration or Logistics preferred.Five or more years of purchasing and/ or planning experience preferred.Experience with ERP software (SAP, Oracle, Process Pro SAGE etc.) a plus.Project management skills preferred.Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Teams, & Excel.Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment.Ability to multi-task, and remain calm and courteous, responding to internal and external customers in a professional manner.Strong analytical ability including problem-solving, organizational skills, and detail-orientation.*No 3rd Party RecruitersWORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:Communicates with all departments, procurement and sales regarding the status of materials and updates the ERP accordingly.Plans to purchase quantities that should be sold according to the data on turns by the time the vendor invoice is due to be paid, to maximize cash flows.Prior experience as a production planner in the industry preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExceptional organizational and time-management skillsStrong regard for product quality and safety standardsSharp analytical and problem-solving skillsMeticulous and diligentAble to sit, stand and move around for long hours at a time.Office setting with 40% of shift spent in production and shipping & receiving area(s)JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARDSMaintains minimum acceptable stock levels in all warehouses according to demand. Prevents stock outs by properly analyzing usage, order points, lead times, and proper stock levels. Keeps redistribution of stock to other warehouses to a minimum.Works with the Planning Department to consume obsolete components.Communicates with other departments the status of materials and updates the ERP accordingly.Plans to produce quantities that should be sold according to the data on turns and customer demandConsiders logistics and warehouse space when planning orders.
