Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our primary and secondary production processes. This position involves creating, managing, and optimizing production schedules to meet customer demands, maximize resource utilization, and minimize downtime. The Scheduler works closely with the production team, procurement, and demand planners to coordinate production and ensure products are made on time and in full.

  • Develop and Maintain Production Schedules: Create and maintain a locked primary and secondary production schedule by utilizing a planning spreadsheet and input from demand planners based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Monitor and Adjust Schedules: Continuously monitor production progress and make necessary adjustments to schedules to address any packaging or equipment delays, machine breakdowns, or other unforeseen issues.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Regularly update management and other stakeholders on production status, potential bottlenecks, and any changes to the schedule. Collaborate with production, procurement, demand planners, and quality control teams to align schedules with material availability, workforce capacity, customer demand, and equipment readiness.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Utilize planning tools and spreadsheets, manage and respond to email communications promptly, and coordinate the scheduling of NPD trials to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Maximize Output and Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to high quality standards by carefully planning and optimizing the production schedule to achieve maximum efficiency, minimize downtime, and meet or exceed product quality expectations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present ideas, facts, and/or recommendations.
  • Knowledge of glassware manufacturing processes.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and organized approach to work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2-3 years' experience in production, scheduling, or supply chain within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Office/manufacturing environment

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • APICS CPIM certification is a plus.
