What you'll do:
* Build integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics and outside suppliers
* Focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis
* Promote alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the maintenance repair shop
* Determine car requirements and coordinate the efficient movement of production and engineering
* Coordinate information and activities with other team members
* May coordinate or exchange information with third parties, vendors, or customers
* Lead technical and mechanical reviews with Operations, Safety, Welding, Quality to analyze and develop optimal process instructions
* Develop and conduct reports, manage meetings, and support the railcar maintenance
* Collaborate with Lean and Continuous Improvement teams at plants during Kaizen events or Value Stream mapping activities
* Collect, compile, and present railcar maintenance progress and status report on a daily basis, or as requested
* Required to provide support during peak fulfillment periods to meet corporate financial targets
* Responsible for ensuring inventory & material controls are in place and executed per the plan
* Other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
* Bachelor's degree preferred with one year experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience
* 9 years of manufacturing experience without degree
* Intermediate to advanced computer skills
* Outstanding interpersonal skills
* Ability to work with many levels within the organization
